John Pothin has more than 30 years of combined business and leadership experience including several senior global leadership roles in Human Resources with the GTECH Corporation, a Global Technology and Gaming business. He served as the Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources prior to the sale of the company in 2007. He went on to serve as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, America’s, at Hasbro, Inc., a global consumer products, branded play, and entertainment business. His work included senior human resources functional leadership, talent assessment and development, business partnership, as well as board advisory.
John recently served as the Managing Director, Human Resources for Patriarch Partners, a global private equity firm in New York, with investments in more than 70 businesses across 14 industry sectors. In his time at Patriarch, John placed more than 250 senior executives in senior leadership roles across the holding company and portfolio of companies. His multi-industry expertise and C-Level placements position him to work effectively and seamlessly across several practice areas.
His corporate career was preceded by his service as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army between 1983 and 2003. In his last assignment, John served as the Executive Officer to the Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, at West Point.
John earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering and a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership Development from the United States Military Academy. His additional and continuing educational coursework includes programs through the Harvard Business School, the Darden Business School, Babson College, the Tuck Business School, and the Center for Creative Leadership.
John lives in New York City and works in the Ward Howell Office in Manhattan.
