About Khalid Osmany

Khalid has more than 45 years’ experience with large Multinational and Family owned Companies; based in Pakistan, UK, ASEAN and the UAE. He has held CEO and Director level positions in Business Management and Human Resource Management for around 25 years. His initial experience was in Sales and Marketing of semi – durable consumer products; he then moved to HR Management covering all aspects of HR operational responsibility; from recruitment to retirement. Then he moved to Business Management, with bottom line responsibility for a very large industrial chemical manufacturing business. Finally he moved back to HR Management with responsibility for developing and Implementing Corporate HR Strategy, Organization and Leadership development.

Khalid has around 33 years’ experience with ICI Pakistan: one of the largest Multinational Companies in Pakistan; with around ten years in Sales & Marketing, three years as Business CEO of ICI’s largest Industrial Chemicals Business and around twenty years in Human Resource Management; with international postings in the UK & ASEAN Region; of which around ten years as General Manager HR and Corporate Communications; with a focus on developing and implementing Corporate HR Strategy.

Moving to the UAE in 2002, Khalid joined the Al Ghurair Group, one of the largest family- owned Group of companies in the UAE; as General Manager Human Resource, for around eight years; responsible for more than eight thousand employees, spread across the MENA Region, in six different Manufacturing and Service sectors. During this period Khalid was mainly involved in developing and implementing HR Strategy, best practices in Performance Management Systems, Organization and Leadership development and Organization restructuring.

Khalid joined Kansai Paint Company, Japan, in 2010; the largest global Automotive paint manufacturing Company; initially for two years as Director HR for the MENA Region; and subsequently for around three years as Director HR for the ASEAN Region Operations. During this period his main focus was in developing and implementing HR Strategy, implementing best practices in Performance Management Systems, developing Job Grading and Salary structures and Competency Frameworks for Executive development.

Khalid obtained a BSc. Degree and an MA Degree from Government College, Lahore, Pakistan; and also attended the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, France.
